Welcome to TheVeryBestofHetalia!
We'll accept anything you throw at us (content-wise)* as long as 1) it obeys dA's (enforced) rules and 2) it's the best of the best. While I am willing to accept any artwork that may be controversial, I will NOT accept work that is purposely inflammatory (FAQ #12) such as work that calls all Germans Nazis or some other similar lies (though, if the work is something like a fanfiction or comic with a highly prejudiced character but the point of it is not to spread hateful messages, then I will be willing to understand and maybe put it in the gallery). If I find evidence of a user being racist (and I don't mean in a Hetalia, let's joke about stereotypes way, but as in someone who really believes that a kind of people is subhuman or unfit to live), I WILL BLOCK said user from this group and remove all their artwork (if they have any) from the gallery and favorites. I refuse to promote people who hate others just because of their political views or ancestry.
I will also block deviants who have
claimed others' work as their own, including tracing and use of bases or stock without proper crediting (as defined by dA's rules). If you have evidence of a deviant being an art thief, I will block them as this is a group showcasing the best Hetalia fanart of skilled artists. If they do not claim the work as their own, but have posted it on Deviantart without expressing their permission to do so, then I may give them a warning depending on if I feel like engaging in what is likely to be a stressful and/or awkward conversation.
Our Standards: For
cosplays-entire outfit must be okay quality (no ripped seams or cut edges visible), the picture must be of good quality (not blurry from movement or out of focus, I will NOT accept cosplays with bad photograph quality), and should be eye-catching from a photographical standpoint; for
visual art (digital and traditional)- must be colored or have shading on it (only two shades is o.k.) or both and should be appealing to the eyes;
animation- does not have to be shaded or colored like the rest of visual art, but the film must be smooth (in between the beginning and end it has to be, but not necessarily a loop)(copying and pasting like an 80's cartoon does not equate to smooth transitions); for
fanfiction- there can be no more than ten grammar or spelling mistakes per page (if there is a typo in the first line or title, chances are I won't even read beyond that and it will be declined. PROOFREAD YOUR WORK BEFORE YOU SUBMIT IT.) and/or(or being in favor of plot) it must have an amazing plot (I'm talking old black and white
Twilight Zone plot-worthy here) (if the grammar's completely crap, but the plot is exquisite, we may allow it to go up in the gallery); for
comics- like fanfiction, if the strip does not meet the same rules as visual art but has an amazing plot, then it may still be accepted; for
mixed media-(what I mean is a piece that spans the other categories in this group, not necessarily something like a piece made with colored pencils and acrylics) it must meet the requirements of all parent categories (if it is a photograph of something like a paper child (I think that's what they're called, please tell me if I'm wrong) then it should meet the requirements of visual art and cosplay).
If you want to submit something that does not belong to any of these categories, please comment on this journal or note me and I will make new rules.
Please note me (~
SeaShellQueen, again) if you find more than two or three pieces of art with links or thumbs.
If you really think a piece should or shouldn't be in the gallery, please note me with your reasons and I'll consider. Occasionally I even look through the gallery to thin out what no longer meets our standards (I really do this. Example- I noticed a deviation in the gallery that had a character without a nose and removed it from the group. I don't know how I missed that, but if you see something you may notify me (~
SeaShellQueen) if you wish).
Also, if you recommend someone's work, please check to make sure it's not already in our favorites. Favorites are where we put pieces that we are unable to contact the maker to put it in our gallery.
Please don't mass submit your work. We'll look at every piece to decide whether it goes in or not, but it definitely doesn't help your chances if we have to look over more than two or three pieces at a time.
*There's been a change to this policy- If there is too much drama surrounding a piece it may be removed from our gallery, whether it's made by the artist or deviants. I don't want to deal with it. It could be anything from people accusing an artist of tracing or an artist saying "All other pairings besides my OTP suck!

." Whatever. I don't want to deal with it and this group is not a telenovelia soap opera. It's not about drama, it's purely about art and I won't let anyone try to spoil that.
Deactivated and banned accounts will be kicked out of the group since they can no longer be used and only inflate our numbers.
I you have any questions, please note either the group or myself (~
SeaShellQueen).
